A complete transformation in your smile and health with high-quality partial dentures

If you still have some healthy teeth, Sac Dentist may be able to rebuild your smile affordably with partial dentures. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to restore teeth durably and cosmetically at our office in Sacramento, California. We proudly serve the whole area—Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Roseville, and beyond  —with trusted, independent, and family-owned dental care.

Why do I need to have some remaining intact teeth?

True to its name, the partial denture partially replaces the teeth. It is a less extensive alternative to the complete or full denture for individuals with some remaining healthy teeth. If we assess the condition of your teeth and find that most or all of them need to be extracted, then Dr. Steven Phan is happy to discuss alternatives like complete conventional dentures. These upper and/or lower complete dentures (s) replace all teeth.

Does it matter where the teeth are located?

One of the advantages of partial dentures or “partials” is that they can replace groups of teeth in a row, as well as a few missing teeth that may be scattered across the mouth. This is different from the standard dental bridge, which generally requires that you have two or three consecutive missing teeth. This grouping is necessary for the bridge because neighboring teeth must be on either side of that gap to anchor the replacement teeth. Partials do not rely on such anchor teeth due to their design.

How are partials designed?

Partials are an appliance that generally sits on a metal framework. The framework attaches to the remaining teeth. It is covered by artificial resin designed to look like real gums and the artificial teeth themselves. That way, the framework isn’t visible when you smile, and your results look natural. The denture’s color, size, shape, and other features are perfectly matched to blend in with the natural teeth and gum tissues.

So, it won’t look like “false teeth”?

If you are referring to the fake-looking, overly plastic prosthetic teeth of yesteryear, that’s right. We strive to use only the highest-quality materials and are exacting in our attention to the little details. All of these characteristics add up to artificial teeth that are almost indistinguishable in appearance from natural ones.

How do I care for my partial?

Sac Dentist works closely with you to make the transition to your new teeth as smooth as possible and sustain your health and satisfaction. Since partials and full dentures are generally removable appliances, you must rinse off and clean your dentures after eating. Your new teeth should be brushed like your natural ones. We can demonstrate good cleaning techniques and advise you on products that can help you. Most dentures must also be placed in a moist environment to maintain their proper shape. So, it’s important to soak them each night while you are in bed. Of course, no healthy maintenance would be complete without visiting us regularly to check on the condition of your dentures and to make any adjustments accordingly.

Know that at our office, serving Sacramento and the greater Carmichael, CA area, the placement of your dentures is just the start of the journey. We are always here to help ensure you stay happy and make the most of your new teeth. Call us at (916) 999-7830 to get started today.
