Veneers are one of the most versatile and popular dental treatments. They are also the secret behind many celebrities’ dazzling smiles. So, it’s no surprise that Sac Dentist often gets asked about this service. We’re happy to share our answers to some of these FAQs.

Will veneers look natural?

Yes! Our team is exacting in how we design and prepare these thin “facings,” or layers of porcelain. We also use only the highest quality materials. Altogether, this level of skill, attention to detail, and use of the finest materials contribute to a renewed tooth structure that perfectly fits your smile and face.

Does the process of getting veneers hurt?

Modern veneers require little to no removal of the enamel that covers and protects our teeth. Since minimal enamel is altered, sensitivity and discomfort are also minimal. Due to this minimal-prep approach, little to no numbing anesthetic is required for comfort.

Why do you use porcelain for veneers?

Dentists love porcelain for numerous reasons. One is that it is a very strong and durable material. Two, it has similar properties (in appearance) to natural enamel. For instance, it reflects light like enamel does, contributing to a natural appearance. Lastly, porcelain resists stains well.

How do I care for my veneers?

As always, good brushing and flossing and maintaining regular check-ups are essential. Also, avoid any behaviors that could contribute to chipping or other forms of damage to the veneers. These behaviors include chewing ice or fingernails or using your teeth to open packages. For those with bruxism who chronically grind their teeth, custom-fit night guards are a good idea to protect your dental work and natural teeth from future damage.

Am I a good candidate for veneers?

Many people are great candidates for veneers. We recommend the most appropriate option for you during a consultation, which will include examining the condition of your teeth and gums. Cosmetic procedures like veneers are only suitable for those with true imperfections and not visible aesthetic concerns caused by underlying disease or decay.

Can I afford veneers?

Sac Dental is very transparent about our pricing. Veneers are not covered by insurance as a cosmetic procedure. We charge ~$1,372. Keep in mind that your total cost of treatment depends on factors such as the total number of teeth to be treated/veneers placed.

How long do veneers last?

With good care, veneers can last for many  years. Due to the quality of our restorations, many patients see these treatments at our office as a great value. Yes, we know it’s an investment, but our veneers are built to last and support smile transformations that have profoundly impacted individuals’ lives and overall well-being. If you are concerned about paying for your veneers, our practice partners with CareCredit® and Cherry to offer financing. You may be eligible to spread treatment costs over several months or longer at 0% interest instead of being stuck with one big payment. The application process is easy, and you can use your funds immediately.

Many Happy Faces

Veneers are thin handcrafted porcelain shields worn on the front of the tooth which improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked, stained or worn. Veneers are thin as contact lenses, and are an aesthetically pleasing option of closing gaps, lengthening teeth, and providing symmetry to make your smile more natural. Veneers are intended to last for many years without changing color. They are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry. Ask your dentist if veneers may be right for you.
